£500 is nothing, I was hoping for at least £1000 for stoozing. Can I ask for a higher limit?

You can ask but I doubt you'll get it. First credit cards tend to come with a low limit until you've proven you can handle it.
It's not a joke, it's a reflection of the risk.0 -

Do you really think they hand you £1000+ straight away ?

see if i spend £500 and then pay it off at once in 3 months time, is this good or badThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I think I had £500 at the start with Halifax - it's £1500 now - could be higher but I never use it so haven't asked0

£500 is actually quite good if you've no credit history.
When I was 19 my first credit card limit was £200 from Capital One. You'll find it goes up if you manage your payments properly. £200 turned to £1000 after a year and into £7500 within 4-5 years0 -

have to walk before you can run, remember cards are short termDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Maxing out your card is bad. Spend about £375 (75%) and pay every month without fail or lateness and it'll soon be increased.0 -

What good is £1,000 for stoozing?
You really need to add another zero on the end to start making it worthwhile.0
