Sorry, my apologies, hope that it did not sound patronising as it was not meant that way:o

Not appearing to be intrusive but do you work or have your own income?

We have just had this kind of conversation...my husband said to me...what if you needed your car, or didnt want me to use it!!!!
I have told my husband to ring them first thing monday, but he is a little unsure how he should approach it as he doesnt want to appear to be trying to keep something which they think he shouldnt have...he was very nervous about going BR in the first place!!!
you have nothing to loose trying?
i know i would have fought tooth and nail for mine. as it goes i did all the fighting in my head at home for mine and it all worked out in the end

So maybe the OR is looking at although it is your car, then your income is made up with benefits and that your husband is therefore paying for the running of the car.

I dont know...all i know is we put down a contribution for me, and then a contribution for the 2 oldest who work...but the examiner when he rang changed all our figures for in and and outs, we asked him to send us a copy...and on the copy there is nothing saying he is paying out expenses for the car, and he has not put down the income we put down for the kids contribution...therefore making us over £200 down...ie paying more out than we have coming in....i cant believe how much more hassle we are having with his BR than when i had mine:mad:

But if your income was only made up of benefits, it would have been straight forward, unless you had assets. I take it you have been discharged.

If your only income had been benefits it would not of mattered what income you put down from your husband.

Did you have the car during your br or did you get it after discharge?

If you got it after discharge, how did you pay for it and the running costs if your husband was needing to show income to balance your SOA.

In that case the OR may look at it that your husband is funding the running of the car.
