What price/% can you buy vehicle back??

Does anyone know what this is, they are coming to take hubbys motorbike away on monday, its only worth about £600, its more economical to use a motorbike for the 15 mile round trip to work, as would cost a lot more if he uses my car, the inlaws would more than likely buy it back for him if it wasnt to much...as yet they dont know about his BR, but he might have to tell them if he needs them to help him out, just wondered if there was a guide line???

Unfortunately there is no definitive answer, I tried to haggle when buying our car back but the agent wasn`t having any of it, in the end though I was quite pleased with what we did have to pay back. All you can do is offer an amount and then take it from there.

one thing to bear in mind as well....they receiver usually goes with parkers guide and looks at the Poor condition quotes

so be prepared to haggle start low & see what they say..at the end of the day it costs the OR to shift a car with various fees so if they can avoid it they will

sadly as dojo said no 2 OR's are alike so ask & be prepared to see what they say

A car or bike it doesn`t matter to the OR, as they are both classed as assets, have you not tried to discuss it with your examiner?

I only mentioned it being a bike as philnicandamy was referring to parkers guide and cars...so just clarifying that:D i know whether car/bike/boat/bus it would be an asset:D
DEBTINFO...yes this is HIS only vehicle, but he told them he has use of my car, so the examiner said he has to use this...which is daft really, as its going to cost more to run on an already extremely tight budget...they are coming monday morning to collect it anyway, so no time to argue the fact really.

Sorry, my apologies, hope that it did not sound patronising as it was not meant that way:o

I'm doubtful about this, I would not have thought that it would be reasonable to suggest that he uses your car. What if you don't want him to, say because you don't want the wear and tear, or that you want to use it, or that you just don't get on with your partner? (I'm not suggesting that you don't). It's his bankruptcy so the questions should relate to how he is facilitated with travel to work with his assets, your assets should not be part of that decision making process. (In my view).

We have just had this kind of conversation...my husband said to me...what if you needed your car, or didnt want me to use it!!!!
I have told my husband to ring them first thing monday, but he is a little unsure how he should approach it as he doesnt want to appear to be trying to keep something which they think he shouldnt have...he was very nervous about going BR in the first place!!!
