Playing games on a PC !!!!!!!!!!!! lol I think that Tom should be more constructive with his time
After looking at the original link by the OP it seems to me that its just a load of hippies complaining about another coporation that squashed a chickpea farm or something so the could make a new processor plant.0 -

well done for highlighting the OpenGl games that do run slow on Vista. How about only a 1.9% drop in Call of Duty?
How about a 18/4% improvement in Xvid Video encoding?
How about a 5.5% improvement in Photoshop Image rendering?
There are certainly issues with performance with Vista, hopefully over the next couple of months improved drivers will help improve this."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I'm not disputing that either. I'd expect it to be. It's a larger more complex operating system. Much like XP was over ME. That's not a reason not to use it though.
All of the benchmarks revolve around video processing, but that's largely due to the Aero interface being handled by the GPU rather than CPU. Much like I get slower performance when running Beryl in Linux as opposed to just the typical X-Server.
It's the price you pay for having a more graphical, flashy interface. I personally like it (hence using Beryl), it add to the experience and looks nicer. If I didn't I still be using Windows 2000.
On the flip side, Vista is far better at handling dual cores and multile processes. You also save CPU cycles by having the GPU handle a lot of the interface."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -

Digital rights management, fancy acronym for copyright protection. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Rights_Management"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Are you sure? I thought it was the end of the world as we know it! :rotfl:It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends

Reeally, what nonesense. The NSA have been contributing code to Linux for years, you don't hear people complaining that anyone using Linux is being spied upon.
As for the DRM issue, well. I'm not a big fan of DRM as such, but I don't really see how you are equating Windows Vista with DRM. It supports the playing of DRM protected content (a good thing, even if the DRM itself is not). It has some DRM protecting it's own content (Genuine Advantage, etc). This is fair enough, I've never really had problems with it, I don't find it as crippling as most DRM.
Just stop spreading this FUD.0 -
Maybe we should all wait a while until MS iron out the bugs in Vista.
