Wind Farms

Options
A) I'm for green energy
B) I'm negative on wind farms. They make no sense - expensive, inefficient...a long story but wind farms are madness.
C) Here's my point..reference wind farms can someone tell me how much we are all paying by way of a hidden subsidy to build these wildly proliferating next to useless windmills?

  • I can tell you exactly how much we are paying for windfarms and other green nonsense: billions too much.
After paying trillions in tax on fuel for decades, there is still not a shred of EVIDENCE supporting the theory of anthropogenic global warming.
Data from Central England Temperature records, as well as the Metoffice show clearly that the natural fluctuations are far greater than the average temperature rise, and also that the rate of average temperature increase has not changed since before the industrial revolution.

I'm all for renewables and wind farms.
Never mind if global warming is real or not, when fossil fuels run out at least we will still have some energy to keep us going(even if it means we will be a low energy society, it is better than having nowt!)

Ah but can you remember what we were told in the 70's? Nuclear power will be so cheap electricity won't be metered! Think they got that one wrong.

And we subsequently stopped building nuclear powerstations.

And on a typicallyl high pressure cold mid-winter day you will freeze.

Meanwhile, why no go and read-up about shale oil and gas (not the hippy lies) and put a smile on your face.

Doom preachers have been telling us that the world as we know it will come to an end for about 200 years.
We have so much oil, gas and if really need be coal left, that there is enough time to develop a whole new way of generating power starting from scratch, before we run out.
The vast majority of tree huggers and environmentalists that tell us how bad things are, don't have a clue and never had a real job in their life.

And that's exactly the reason we need a mixture of energy suppliers.
In the long term ALL fuel will have to come from sustainable means, but in the mean time we'll have to rely on fossil fuels. They're not going to last forever though, and the rarer they become the more expensive they'll be.

There's plenty of oil in the world, but somebody else is sitting on them.

It's like the American sales, all the good stuff is grabbed by the other shoppers (China, India) unless you use pepper spray.

With the rate of consumption increasing exponentially due to mainly China and India, I don't have the same confidence of the posters above that fossil fuels will last for ages.
What we need is fusion researchers to start getting their fingers out of their backsides and make it economically viable. I would like to see how Daily Mail brigade would try to paint that technology as being some kind of lefty, green renewable loving plot to get hold of tax payers money.
