    cant see a mention of it ...can we choose any auction length?

    and if i listed now or at the weekend but click the scheduler to make it start in the evening (sat/sun) do you still pay the scheduler fee?

    Yes, you would have 6p per item, however if you're able to you can go in & edit the listing to start immediately, when you want it to go live, then the 6p doesn't get charged.

    Don't forget that business sellers can get their own back (a bit!) by listing some items for free on ebay.com

    As long as you have a selling account (ie a card or paypal linked to your account) then you should not be excluded.

    so for instance list them today with a scheduled start of 8pm saturday , then edit them at 7pm to start now ?
