Can anyone recommend a good knife set?

    I don't mind spending a decent amount because I want a decent set that's going to last and not go blunt and rusty after a few uses.

    Unfortunately, all knives go blunt after a few uses. Half the battle is learning how to keep them sharp.
    But, I know what you mean.... Good knives stay sharp longer
    NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!

    Also good knives are sharper. I could not believe the sharpness of the Global knives I bought. The G2 sliced through a potato with ease. I also have a Robert Welch knife with a German stainless steel blade, and that is very good too despite having a more modest price. I think you need to pay to get decent steel, and a decent handle, but beyond that you are entering professional territory. Global knives for me are a luxury.
