  • no need to turn a router off as it really does not use very much current.

    there are two downsides:

    1. Equipment tends to fail more from the 'stress' caused by turning equipment and and off that running the whole time.
    2. When you turn it on, you can expect a delay of typically a minute or two, before you are on-line - this can be a pain.
