Hello, i wrote the other day about recieving an order that i paid for online with visa credit card, that i was not happy about regarding the "fitness of goods" recieved.I tried to contact the company to no result, then asked visa to send me claim forms.
However the company DID contact me yesterday and today to say that they will supply a returns address for refund. My worry is they may then keep the goods and not offer a refund. What is the best way to do this, should i contact visa and ask them????
-Thank you.

Request proof delivery from the post office.
So you have proof of payment and proof of the item being returned.0 -
thanks, i'll do that. Postal tracking is the way i guess. I already have proof of payment, and will return with tracking...but where do i stand if i get no refund, ie they just keep the stuff and don't do a refund>??
-That is my concern, whats stopping them from doing so????0 -

You said before that the company policy was not to refund on opened goods ? Have they said why they are prepared to refund now ? What reason have you given for wanting to return ?0 -

You paid on CC, right? So, Section 75? Assuming goods were > £100 of course. I didn't see your last post.
You have other rights if S75 doesn't apply.0 -
Hello, when the company finally communicated with me i told them that i wasn't happy with the product, because i ordered a pure tan coloured product, but recieved one with white bits in it which would suggest a contaminated or faulty product.
Today they told me to return stuff and would supply refund. Tomorrow they will supply a return address.
-The reason i ask for your assistence is because where do i stand if they then "pull a fast one" and keep the returned product and don't do the refund???
-Thank you for your time.0 -

If they don't refund you, your CC issuer may be able to help you as long as you have proof that the goods have been returned as faulty. Once the CC issuer takes up your dispute the retailer has up to 60 days to reject the dispute. If they do this they will provide evidence as to why they've rejected it.
What the retailer may do is to test the goods which you are saying are faulty (you have said that you "suspect" they are faulty) and if they are found not to be faulty they might not refund you.
If you do want to use Section 75 if the dispute fails, only one of your transactions would be covered.0 -

-Thanks Meer53, but the retailer has simply said they will send a returns address today, and when they recieve the goods they will give a refund.
Sounds simple enough, but they can also be telling tales. So this is why i need to know what i must do so that they stick to what they said. I Have proof of purchase, internet conversations, and their agreement, and also them saying if i return, they will refund. Soon i will have proof of sending to a returns address also.
-So do i need to do this with Visa as a mediator, or am i safe to do this alone, and can then goto Visa if they were after all playing games??
Thank you.0 -
Visa will not be interested at this stage - you have not exhausted your possibilities with the retailer.0
