Belkin 54g router, BT Voyager 10V and BT Broadband Talk

I wonder if someone could point me in the right direction to get my laptop working wirelessly with the new BT Vogager 2500V?
I've installed the 2500V and got it and BT Broadband Talk working (ethernet) without any difficulty with my desktop computer (so ditching the Belkin was a good move from that point of view).
Now I can't seem to get the laptop working. Although the laptop is seeing the 2500V - 54mps with an excellent signal - whenever I try to make it connect I get a 'Limited or No connectivity' report. Apparently "The problem occurred because the network did not assign an IP address to the computer"
Can anyone help me out with what to do to overcome that?
Any help much appreciated.Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").

Did you enter the wireless encryption key? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

'Limited or No connectivity' is usually related to encryption problems. Are you sure that you are connecting to your router? Can you connect with encryption turned off? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

The signal is good in the living room and increases as I take the laptop closer to the router - so, yes, it is my router it's connecting to.
How would I turn encryption off to check?Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").

Log into the router while connected via an Ethernet cable and go to the wireless settings, encryption page. Disable the wireless encryption and see if you can then connect. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

EDIT 16:11 - Problem solved - my own stupid fault - I'd copied down 2 digits of the key wrongly from the underside of the router!
As a point of interest, the default username and password for all BT routers is admin (you can change it though).Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").

Funnily enough, that's exactly what I've been trying to do - but it asks for a username and password - neither of which I can remember (yes, I've tried all my usual ones).
I thought that you had only just installed it.
Unless you have changed it from the default, it will be as per the user manual. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
