HI,
I have never used a mobile phone for internet browsing (newbie!). I am looking to get the Virgin black Berry for £8.99/month. It says unlimited emails but 500MB internet browsing.
Is 500MB a lot? I am not looking to download anything-just mainly internet browsing. How do you know check that you have reached your internet browsing limit? Do you get charge for going over the limit..

YES * unless you spend all weekend on Youtube or go abroad - see numerous threads here
HOWEVER ** some phones have a cumulative figure tucked away in the settings so you can keep a check and/or online billing sections often keep tabs for you of data usage0 -
Many phones will have apps in the market place that can track your usage .

There should be a usage monitor on the online account access, learn how to use the settings though on the handset, that will save lots, things like autosync, are not really essential and gobble up data, so far this month I have used under 60mb ( I have unlimited data, but that is no reason to use it in excess)
So to answer your question 500mb can be a lot or it can be a little, some have to live on youtube and graphic heavy applications, then wonder why the allowance has gone in days, but banking emails and weather updates and the occasional youtube etc, 500mb certainley 1gb will be plenty.0 -
I use 3G Watchdog which I find really accurate. You just set it to count from your billing date so you can see what you have used in a billing month.0
