Just wondering if anyone uses Abel & Cole?
My girlfriend and I are thinking about it but not sure if it's worth while.
How does it compare to the supermarkets price wise?
**** Forgot to mention that I have a promo code to get the 4th box free! ****
**** Just enter VEGFREE when you place your first order by 9th December. ****

Never had them. But Ocado are now doing an organic veg box scheme which may compare.
Friends that have a box love them as they like the slight element of chance and the challenge of using everything.Eating Out of the Storecupboards Challenge.
Spend no more than £3 per week on non perishables until the end of Jan 2012.

Thanks, I'll have a look into them!
My mum use to get a veg box every week from the local WI delivered, it was always fun as sometimes you had no idea what things were! Thanks to all who post comps!

I've tried Abel&Cole and I use Riverford Organic now, slightly cheaper. I think prices are similar to the supermarket (if you buy organic), and we also enjoy the challenge of trying things we would never buy otherwise. We order a box every two weeks, as even the smallest one is too much for only 2 people..0

I use my loval food co-op. it is not organic, but all my fruit and veg for 2 for £6! Amazing value. and it helps people that really cannot afford their food.

I started ordering from Abel & Cole about 2 months ago. The quality of veg is very good and lasts for so much longer than supermarket purchases.
Personally, I would not go back to buying from the supermarket. Although it may well be a bit cheaper up front, fruit & veg from there goes off so quickly that in comparison, it's just a false economy.
Abel & Cole give regular freebies as well. This week I got a lemon, last week a mince pie, week before that a litre of milk, 6 eggs the time before, apples the time before that... Their customer service is pretty darn good too. :T Recommended!0 -
Thanks for the great advice! I get frustrated with the lack of quality at supermarkets for someone on a budget. Quality fruit and veg shouldn't cost a fortune.
Thanks to all who post comps!

Used to use Abel & Cole but it got quite expensive. Like Azmataz, like their freebies though!
Now using a small local one called Red Apple - www. redappledelivery. com. Delivery area is small but looks like they're expanding to North London. I like their focus on healthy, simple recipes... HTH

Thanks I have one literally round the corner but always forget to use it!
You've reminded me!Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.
