Natwest and RBS are both the same bank (RBS Group) seems odd that they are asking you to provide statements, don't they already have access to them?
Debt free and staying that way!

Looking at your signature, you already have 1990 od with Natwest and 500 on a Natwest credit card (Natwest Credit cards are underwritten by RBS). Do you really think you will get another account??

    Hi,

I'm applying for their graduate account, so I'm hoping they'll be more lenient? I have requested an overdraft (to help with christmas).

Do they often say no to graduate accounts?

    Thanks,
    Current debts:
    Wonga Loan - £0 :-)
    Vanquis Credit Card - £500 (£500 limit) :(
    Aqua Credit Card - £250 (250 limit) :-(
    NatWest Credit Card - £500 (£500 limit) :(
    NatWest Current account - £-1990 (£2000 overdraft limit) :(

I was thinking that.... the underwriters would be able to access RBS & Natwest accounts. so they would not need to see actual statements.

  • Do you think they will let you have a Graduate account and a (presumably) student overdraft??
The answer is a no no IMO.

The best you can hope for is them taking over the student debt on graduate terms - so how much will this leave you to play with?
  • Take them in on an iPad and get them to photocopy them? That's what I did when they asked me for payslips a couple years back...

...once we got past the catch-22 of "our photocopier's out the back", "you're not walking off with my iPad", "well you can't come out the back", "can you wheel the photocopier out here?", "no" :rotfl:

Your branch can print a list of transactions going back to around a year. Each piece of paper can be stamped with the branches name and date. It won't however include your address - just name, sort code and account number. The bank may be satisfied if you can provide this transaction data alongside any older documents from the bank containing your name, address, matching sortcode and account number.

Its not as easy as you may think to print of transactions in branch and very time consuming..... Then people wonder why branches always have long queues :p
