Yes, but this change did not simplify them! It reduced their number. Simplifying them would mean amongst other things, having discounts applied for the same things across suppliers, breaking out the standing charge (instead of hiding it in the first 500 or so units).
Remember most of the 500 tariffs are no longer sold anyway, or relate to differences in price in different regions. This change does not appear to tackle that problem at all. ML needs a kick up the back side if he really things this is a positive change for most people.0 -
Yes, it's a bit of a play on words. I suppose reducing the number of tariffs offered simplifies the choice but if the tariff structures remain the same then the actual tariffs haven't been simplified at at all. It's typical of the energy industry, basically. Smoke and mirrors.0
