Hanna & Browne

Hanna & Browne is the trading name of Lisnasure Interiors, potentially doesn't look good with the following listed in the High Court next week. Might be wise to take usual precautions if using them in the meantime.

Potentially that means nothing - remember Laser? They were advertising right to the end, in fact some of their major creditors were broadcasters and newspapers.

There is a possibility that they may be put into receivership and continue trading until a buyer is found. We will all know more after the court case. Me, I wouldn't buy anything that I couldn't walk out of the shop with, until more is known.
  • Disappointed to hear that. Used Lisnasure quite a bit- always prefer other options to the big national chains for electrical and white goods which seem few and far between.
  • Any views on what a couple with a current wedding list there should do.Am i right in assuming that there could be issues if people pay with a debit card and would it be best to just close the list.I'm querying this on behalf on a friend.

I've just placed a wedding gift list with Hanna and Browne - list not going live until middle of Dec though as the wedding is not until February - let's hope this week's high court action is ok. Can you let us know if you hear anything more?? Thanks in advance - a nervous bride 2b :o

If they're going to court then they're in trouble full stop.

Personally i'd move your wedding list elsewhere - or advise people to buy the items and take them with them rather than paying for them and reserving them.

When we were building our house last year we paid a £5,000 deposit on our windows to Delta Trading of Portadown. We loved their product and we dealt directly with the owner who was very charismatic about his products. Plus we had made a concious decision to support local businesses rather than large corporations. We knew they were experiencing financial difficulties but had assurances from the owner it was a temporary thing, so we trusted them.

Two months later they went bust and took our £5K down with them.

Caused us no end of pain trying to sort it all out when we should have been able to focus on the positives that were happening at the time - just something to bear in mind.

There is no such date for the company in the high court. This just seems to be a malicious romour started about the company. I would like to know where BigAl94 recieved this information. However, there are no problems buying from the company, nor should there be in the near future.

    Here's the gazette notice

That gives a court date of June or soon thereafter; is it only coming to court now or is it a mistake?
