Refurbished iphone deal

Hi there,

My contract with T-Mobile is up for renewal and I am after an iPhone 3GS. I have rung T-Mobile and o2 and have had the following offers:

T-Mobile
New 3GS 8GB with 50 minutes talktime, unlimited texts and unlimited internet access for £15. (includes free phone)
or
iPhone 4 8GB with 100 minutes talktime, 100 texts and unlimited internet for £25 (+ £100 for the phone)

o2
Refurbished 3GS 8GB with 50 minutes talktime, 250 texts and 500MB internet access for £21.50. (includes free phone)

My only gripes with T-mobile are that they charge for sending picture messages and charge for voicemail. I've don't have a problem getting a signal and I don't pay for voicemail as I have set it up for free through Hullomail. To send a picture message through o2 used to cost you 3 texts per picture message unless that has changed and voicemail is free as far as I know.

What I would like to know is has anyone had a refurbished phone off o2 and were there any problems with it ? The guy I spoke to reckons a refurbed phone is one that someone ordered had for a couple of days then decided it wasn't for them and sent it back.

If anyone can offer any help that would be great or if anyone knows of any better offers on either the 3GS or the 4 that would be good.

Are the T-mobile deals only 24 months? I'm a low user of calls & texts and would be tempted by the iphone4 but only if it was less than 24 month contract.
