Wickes Kitchen Price Breakdown

You have over 4k worth of costs associated with 4.2m of granite - which could easily be halved from an independant.
You also have 6m of 40mm worktop - is this deliberate?
Sound like a v.large kitchen to have 10m of worktop..
v.nice to have!

HOW MUCH???
No wonder I've been beating Wickes' prices quite easily lately!
The Quartz is at least twice the price it should be. Was it a new designer you were dealing with? As I notice they have only put in one lot of costing for the edge detail. It should be (by their pricing) 26p x linear metres of exposed edge, not just the 1 x 26p.
You should be going back and asking for 50% off the Quartz and an extra 10% off the units.
The Sofia range is quite expensive though, it's a decent quality integrated-handle style door (lacquered, not vinyl wrapped), which you always pay a premium for...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

i have done a few granite fits this year for them, each time i am shocked at there charges. £50 for every 100mm, templating £200+, sink cut out, £200, tap holes charge, radius charge.
its not waffel when the post above say it is double, having said that the jobs i have done have been excellent very good finish all around. sheridens.
there kitchen and bathroom prices have increased a lot last month, they know there year end figures wont be any where near they projected to the city. so they have this idea that sales figures with bigger margins will look better than more sales with lower margins.
dont think the sale will be any good this year unless they drop the list price back to previous figures.0 -
Crikey that is extortianate. The 2 x 3 pan drawer units cost as much as our whole kitchen did (IKEA!).0

I entered the competition on the Daily Telegraph website to win a kitchen from Wickes worth up to £20k. I was thinking that for that we could get top of the range everything. Maybe not...0

We had a quote from Howdens two weeks ago on the integrated handle kitchen. The units came to less than £3000 and it's not a small kitchen. There were five larder units in there. I ran a quote through diapol for quartz worktops as well and they came in at £1300. Having bought umpteen different kitchens, Howdens and Wickes kitchens are indistinguishable in quality, in my opinion.
I bought the kitchen from Ikea though this time as it was cheaper and a shorter term kitchen but given the choice between Wickes and Howdens, my deciding factor would be purely price. I wouldn't even show that quote to Howdens, it's ridiculous as a benchmark even.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

That kitchen looks similar to a Second Nature Remo or Welford. Coudl one of their distributors (mostly independent showrooms) get you the same look but more transparently priced?0

It is the Remo door. The majority of Wickes' kitchens use PWS doors...Doozergirl wrote: »We had a quote from Howdens two weeks ago on the integrated handle kitchen. Chalk and cheese to be fair though. The Howdens door is a cheap vinyl wrap, the Wickes one is a good quality lacquer. Completely different price points for completely different products. It's kinda like comparing ASDA smart price beans with Heinz, yes they are cheaper, but not quite as good...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Meepster - I am pretty sure PWS dont do any lacquered doors. They are all foils or timbers or am I missing something? We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
