No CD Burner has been detected?

WMP 10 isn't the latest version anyway. I've used WMP for ages and never had any problems with it, but I only use Nero for burning. Does sound like the pc simply doesn't have cd/dvd rw and the OP was trying to burn. Although you can say that without being rude computerwoman.

I have spoken to the seller I bought the PC from & it only comes with a CD ROM - DOH! He is going to install a CR rw for me (or whatever is needed) & hopefully that should solve the problem?

I thought if you could play a CD, then you could burn one too. I have burned plenty on my own PC, which is why this one stumped me!!!!

DVD burners are the norm now and these will enable you to burn both CD's and DVD's, so if he is going to upgrade it for you, it would be a better move.

Unfortunately not, would be nice though. That's why dvd players can't burn dvds, the burning technology tends to be a step beyond playing only.

Well I saw the irony of somebody doing a massive posting as a way of having a go at a new member posting a few short helpful hints that could be read in whole and ignored by hovering over the thread....:rolleyes: to be instantly lost on the mists of the forum....

If only I had quoted the OP post when i asked if they worked with MAC/Linux or posted pages of MAC and Linux equivalant shortcuts to the MS ones it would have been a massive posting ... but that would have been as wrong as name calling...:rotfl:
