    Hi Blackdog and Renstar

Sorry not come back to you sooner on this.

I’m afraid that there isn’t a way to postdate your switch to SaveOnline 11 to 15 January 2012.

Our online products do have to be switched through our website, this is part of our commitment to make sure that customer’s choose the best tariff for their needs. If you’re looking for an online plan you need to be able to manage your account online and this includes switching tariff.

Our phone advisors can certainly talk you through the options and help you choose, but if you opt for an online deal, we’ll ask you to switch over online. We have a dedicated online support team that can help you with this if you need it.

The facility to post date isn’t available because our tariffs are updated quite regularly, it may well be that a new version of SaveOnline becomes available before the end date or perhaps a new plan that suits you better.

As Airmike23 said, there’s no penalty for switching tariff before 15 January. If you’re sure that SaveOnline 11 is the right one for you then it’s best to switch over sooner rather than later.

If you want to hang on to SaveOnline 4 until the New Year then perhaps keep a note in your diary and log in online to have a look closer to the day.

Hope this helps clear things up, sorry it’s not exactly what you were hoping for, as always, your comments will be passed on.

    Amanda :)

SaveOnline 11 is no bargain. No great loss if it's replaced by 12.

Thanks for your posts Pincher and Amanda.

If there is no penalty to change early then I assume I could change to online 11 now (as it appears to me to be cheaper than online 4) then change again if online 12 or another more suitable tariff comes along in the new year. Then again maybe I am just getting confused and online 11 isn't cheaper for me. It's all so confusing!!!!

I tried two comparison sites and there are only minor savings to be made by moving to a new company unless you factor in the cashback and/or vouchers!

I really think government should introduce a system where all energy companies are required to provide a KW/h price with no standing charge and no increase in cost after so many kw/h's. A bit of transparency and an end to the comparison sites would really help people understand what they will be paying. When you think about the huge percentage of most peoples income that goes on fuel it can't be right that there is so much confusion about cost.

Using my post code, a medium user pays:

    SaveOnline 4 £1,074.69

    SaveOnline 9 £974.64

    SaveOnline 11 £1,105.55

    Using Dr. Who terminology:

"SaveOnline 9 escaped the price increase effects of 13th September 2011 by being in the centre of the time vortex, cut off from the mainline tachyon flow."

    Biblically:

Truly devout disciples who attend the MSE on a regular basis received the revelaton in time. They demanded post-dated switch to SaveOnline 9 of Pharoah E.On, who denied them thrice. One prophet appeared, who sayeth, "Call E.On Internet Support, they can set up post-dated switch." Such was the siege upon the E.On call centre, that E.On relented. Lo, the Red Sea was parted, and the prophet led us to to the Promised land of SaveOnline 9.

Pincher, what an inspirational post! I will look into SaveOnline 9 and see if it is still available but I don't recall seeing it when I logged into my account to look at options to change to. Thank you so much for your post, you really cheered me up from the misery of deciding what to do next.
I am afraid that I can't thank you in Doctor Who or Biblical terms so you will have to make do with a "may the force be with you".

9 is not available any more.

If you look at threads from August 2011, you can see what was happening with demands for post-dated switch.

Ok thanks, looks like it is back to plan b for me then and double check that Saveonline 11 is going to be the best value.
