    The wireless runs the other pc through in the room though..
    Espresso I was answering macman who was talking about the line speed/cable etc.

    It's fine to use wireless for another PC but don't use wireless and Ethernet together on the same PC.

    it's not speed I was after, it's the signal strenght, given in dB, up the side of the graph....basically, how tall is your graph ??

    Ok, sorry - it sits on the 30 mark and every so often spikes down to 40. :)

    Lovely thanks very much for all help. Its going better now, and I'm wondering if the husband stuck the ethernet cable in at the same time as the guy was here fixing the Sky dish, as the wires are all in the same corner. Maybe he got carried away when he was tidying up!!
