How do I move my ISA

Hello, please excuse my stupidity on this but I could use some advice about moving an ISA.
I have a cash ISA with Santander which I have had for years and was originally a Bradford and Bingley isa before their takeover.
I've managed to pay in my full allowance for this tax year but I would assume that there are better ISA's for my money to be in. How would I go about moving it without losing the interest I will have built up over the year?
I am paid my interest once a year at the beginning of september, not the end of the tax year. Does this affect when I can move it?
Thanks

Find a new provider who accepts transfers in with the rate you want.
Fill in an application form to open a new cash ISA and transfer your Santander Cash ISA into it. This is done on the application form. (Don't make a new contribution as you have used your allowance for this year already).
The interest you have earned so far will be credited by Santander on the day of the transfer to your new provider, so it will appear on your new account.
When the interest is normally paid by Santander makes no difference.0 -
Be sure to get your new provider to carry out the transfer, dont do it yourself or you will lose your tax free status.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thanks to you both for your help, thats exactly what i needed0
