Have you tried to ring Egg? To find out what happened to your account? That would be my first step.LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

There have been quite a few news stories about the transfer from Egg to Barclays.
See the ones in this search link for example.

Don't take it personally. Barclays have really prioritised the customers with active cards, and even some of those have had a shamble of an experience. People like you on a DMP or me (paying off the balance after refusing an interest increase) have been rather forgotten. Ring up again tomorrow but see if you can find the free number on "saynoto0870" or whatever it is called. And do read the threads on the credit card board. It's an enlightening!LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

Just been reading all the threads and the link kindly sent from fermi, and all I can say it what a total disaster people being charged interest when they shouldnt have been seems like loads of people have not been informed in the end the only winner wil be barclays cause there are a lot of people out there that will just accept things and pay....
Will ring tomorrow and see what happens and wont be calling the 0870will look for the free number thank you for the advice xx0 -
Hi Helen,
I'm on a DMP too and have an Egg CC on there. I happened to ring on the day of the changeover which was the first I'd. Heard of it too. I think I've been luckier than you with my experience although it took a couple of tries!
1. Ring 0844 556 0066 (local rate but not from your mobile so call from a landline!) ... I spoke to Karen who said she is there 9-5 Mon-Fri and she was very helpful and provided me with my new account number.
2. Next time I ring, I will use my number for Barclaycard collections (i also have one of them!) And hopefully they'll be able to help me directly now I have my new account number (i tried them first and they couldn't help without it)... best number for them is 01452 828509
Hope that might help a bit?
Oh, they also told me they are honouring all pre-existing agreements that Egg had set.up. I'm guessing they'll have a couple of seething problems but I asked about it when I spoke to Karen and she gave me the info on mine and it did seem as though it had transferred correctly, so fingers crossed!

I had a letter at the start of the month telling me about the changeover. I rang Barclay's a week later (without an account number), got put through to the right people who accepted a 50% F&F offer over the phone (got it in writing now). Was very pleased with the service, although the first attempt to transfer me cut me off.0
