Can you sue the police for failing to act?

            Oh come on. This kind of news story is heard about quite regularly where the police fail to act. If the woman doesn't want to press charges or take the wife beating guy back after every incident or she prevents the police from actually helping her out then what can they do?0

 And the guy's partner would probably stop it from happening "he's just misunderstood". Some people expect everyone else to look after them. If he's beating her up then call the police and press charges. Don't just back down and blame the police for failing to act.0
