The point people are trying to make is that card scheme chargebacks are inferior to a Section 75 claim; S75 actually makes the card issuer jointly liable for the performance of the contract. Chargebacks are subject to Visa/MasterCard scheme rules and the agreement of the card issuer.

If the OP is booking a holiday then would it not be ABTA / ATOL protected in any case?

I would suggest for peace of mind that you book via a cashback website, money earned will usually cover the credit card charge. Then you could have S75, ABTA/ATOL and chargeback protection.

Visa Chargebacks address the OPs concerns regarding goods not received/businesses gone into administration.

Purchase protection is in place, it just doesn't refer to section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act and is processed differently.

Yes thats what we were all saying to the OP. It doesn't refer to Section 75 because it doesn't apply to Debit Card purchases.

Purchase protection is not guaranteed with either Visa Chargebacks or Section 75, it's quite risky to say that it is. Chargebacks can be actioned but they can be rejected by the retailers concerned. Section 75 claims can also fail.
