3 contract renewal
first post here, hope this is right but just phoned up 3 to cancell my cotract. Currently on talk n text 700 and was offered half price for 9months, 35 for next 3 months and credit of £140 odd meaning monthly average was just under £10/month.
This is without a new handset and i have had a bit of bother with mine but is there anyway I can unlock my samsung d500 (previous contract with orange) and then transfer my sim accross?
any help would be great
cheers:T

Hi 1874
Kindly verify with THREE if your samsung handset will work with your THREE sim. THREE sims don't work on unlocked phone sets from other networks.0 -
DONT DO IT!!!
I'm sorry this isn't helping with your original question but 3 are the worst phone company I've used! Called them today and ended up red faced and very angry, with nothing sorted!
Just pay more for another network in the hope that they have a customer service department worth using!0 -
I didn't need a new handset, so rang 3 to let them know I was looking for a deal. They offered me 500 xnet, anytime minutes plus 100 texts per month for a total of £60 for the year.
They will charge me the usual £30 per month for the 12-month contract, but credit my account with £300, so that I don't pay anything for the first 10 months.
3 may not suit everyone, but I've had no problems. So I'm happy to stay another 12 months.

My son has been with them almost 2 years now and I was quite happy till now.... probably cause I had never had a real problem before and had to rely on help from the call centre!!!
The problem is the connection on the phone where the charger goes in. The phone has been back to the service centre, (by post) but they said the battery was at fault. The battery probably is now faulty as it wouldn't charge right, but try explaining that to a customer service adviser! I have now given up, and won't renew the contract for a 3rd year.
I kept getting asked where my nearest Nokia service centre is.... London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle...... mmmm, fed up saying I live in Glasgow, Scotland!0 -

I empathise Alba. I had a similar problem with a phone, which 3 refused to accept as damage covered by the warranty. I almost walked away too; it made me realise that the companies see phones as consumables - to be replaced & ditched every year. I picked up a replacement phone for £30 from ebay, and am keeping my eyes peeled for another spare for me and my OH.
The phone plus the £60 calls, are still considerably cheaper than the £240 they wanted to charge me for an upgrade which included a new phone [that I really didn't need].
But, I do know where you are coming from. British "service provider" companies are great.....until something goes wrong; and I'm not just talking mobile telephones either!0
