O2 changed my tariff?
Hi everyone
I signed up to O2 in Jan 2009 on a business tariff which gave me 750 mins, & 450 text + iPhone bolt on all for a cost of £35 + Vat per month.
The 450 texts was made up of:
50 texts are per the tariff
200 extra texts
200 shared texts
This contract suited me fine and the only time it was ever higher than normal was if I made/accepted any phone calls whilst in the Republic.
However I did notice that since about May this year the bills were much higher than normal due to me going over my text limit - I'm more of a texter than a talker, but still couldnt understand how I'd managed to go over my limit.
I sat down yesterday and went through all my bills from start of the year only to find that the 200 shared texts had been taken off my account. I phoned O2 to ask why and apparently when I rang up to discuss a phone upgrade, the tariff was automatically changed to the nearest currently offered tariff at that time.
Following my phonecall, they have agreed to give unlimited texts for the duration of my contract. However, I'm wondering should I have asked for my previous charges to be refunded (almost £40 + vat) or should I be content with the unlimited texts?
I appreciate any feedback you can provide.
