Thanks skintas.
I will check these sites out too. Do you think people use them much? I hadon't heard of Loot.com before (but that's probably me being a bit thick)!0 -
Just to update and thank you all for your help with this. I have had a good look round the laymyhat.com It was invaluable!
As a result of that I have placed our property in Devon on ownersdirect.co.uk and I had an enquiry straight away! http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/england/E247.htm
I am now going to put our place in Spain on there too and keeping my fingers crossed that I get a return for the fees.
Thank you all again!!!0 -
SammySue, please dont take this the wrong way, but you need to get some better pics up.They just dont sell the place IMO.0

Yes, you are right Budgetflyer. I have set me Mum a mission. She is currently staying there and has letters after her name for photography (don't ask me which ones)! So hopefully I will have some better pictures soon.
I always value any input!0 -
You are welcome. Best of luck.
Dont forget ebay too.And ebid - its free, and craigslist and viva street.
Write an article about the area and submit it to ezines like https://www.ezinearticles.com and others.
Put the url in all these listings as they all have quite a high google rank which helps google spot your cottage if someone searches for "cottage in Devon" etc.0 -
Wow, thanks BudgetFlyer! So much useful information. I will investigate all of these.
It's good to know useful advice, such as putting the url in article listings. I didn't even think about doing that. So thank you, very much appreciated!0 -
Sorry, I know that this is a late update to my previous post but I have now put our place in Spain on owners direct as well.
I would appreciate any comments or recommendations as before. Many thanks!

Thanks Richard. Trouble is they only allow 4 photos. Do you think I should change any of them?0

For what it's worth I would take off the beach and the golf and put pics of your apt. Same with your UK cottage. If I was booking I would know the area had a nice beach etc. I would not book either of your places at the mo as I'd be worried about why you had no pics on there of the interiors. (am sure they're lovely!!!!!!!).
Lovely pic of pool in Spain though!
I know people ho only book via ownersdirect. Will be interested to see how you get on with them as we will soon have a place to put on there!!!!!! :j :j :j :j :j :jA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
