How should I 'word' a letter re coupon policy...?

I was in Morrisons on Saturday and gave the sales assistant (young girl) 4 x 50p Morrisons Nappy vouchers.
They were printed on my pc, and I've used them loads of times before with no problems. (my 'normal' checkout girl wasn't on....  )
My total spend was only about four quid but I normally just hand them over, saying "I've got some vouchers here..." letting them take as many as they will.....
Anyway, she wasn't sure if she could take them as I'd not bought any nappies, and even though I told her I'd used them many times in the past, she called over the Supervisor to check.....
THATS WHERE IT ALL WENT DOWNHILL.....
The Supervisor said in a very loud voice that "We can ONLY take vouchers when you've bought the product, and ALSO, ONLY when you've got a mimimum spend of £30.00"
Well, we were 'discussing' this backwards and forwards, and she was insistant that I couldn't use ANY of my vouchers.
I paid for my stuff and stomped off saying that I was going to take my custom elsewhere, because TESCO and ASDA DO take the vouchers, and I was going to write to Morrisons Head Office and Complain!!!!!
(Thinking about it when I got home, I should have left my groceries without playing for them and let THEM put them back onthe shelves but I was too ANGRY!!!   )
SO.........
Can anybody help me with the wording for a letter to Morrisons......
please.......?

Surely you won't have any joy with Customer Services? Did the vouchers state that the product must be purchased (most do)?
If so I would have thought that Morrisons would be within their rights to refuse them?
Well done if you do get anywhere though!0 -
Yes, the vouchers do state that you must buy the product but I've used them lost of times before.....
Asda and Tescos take vouchers that say this too and as long as they can claim the money back, then there seems to be no problem.....
I may just telephone the store and ask the manager what their policy is....
Thanks for your help guys.....

I have NEVER known Morrisons to accept vouchers if you don't buy the product - only Tesco, Asda and Waitrose, and even then their 'policy' varies from store to store and SA to SA.

I have never known Morrisons to take vouchers either and I never try to use any.
Voucher policy is a BONUS but not an automatic right, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose but the savings can make it all worthwhile.

I work for morrisons and it is policy only to take vouchers for products which have been bought.Give the staff a break, they are only doing there job.0

What a silly post. Complaining about not being able to use vouchers for a product that you had not actually bought! :rotfl:0

Personally Morrisons have never taken vouchers for items I haven't bought either.
If I was you, I'd keep as quiet as I could, remember which checkout people accept coupons and just go to them in future.
If you do an official letter, you stand losing the chance of getting any coupons accepted at all because I think Morrisons policy is to only accept coupons for items you've bought. Also you did especially well to get internet ones accepted that you didn't have to pay / wait for.
Whatever you do, try and be polite to the checkout people. Their the ones carrying out the company policy. There is no need to run outside

£2 off a £4 pound spend, this is ridiculous, you cant get things for free just for printing off loads of vouchers!delete the post0

Sounds like sheratthead is being rather foolish. You must have looked really stupid in the store causing such a commotion. I side totally with the store on this one. I suppose you'll be writing to them and asking for compensation? They'll probably file your letter under B1NIt's not the taking part but the winning that counts.0
