Blackberry curve 3g

Hi folks - could anyone help? My son wants the above phone, blackberry curve 3G. Can anyone tell me where I'm likely to get the best deal from? Have looked on Pricerunner but any other ideas or shops known to anyone would be a great help. I'm hopeless with phones (mine is coming up to 8 years old!!!). A friend said I might get a better deal by having a contract but just the word scares me, I've always been a PAYG kinda girl!

Cheapest are going to be contract phones - if you pay over the top with pay and go, then you have to buy BB service on top (no doubt your son will want that).
Only issue with the cheap contract deals is they are redemption deals - which is something you should be comfortable doing before attempting - something like 18 months with 14 months free through cashback/redemption.

My 13yo daughter has 8520 Curve on Tesco - 250 mins/5000 txt/500MB for 15/month. Pic messages are extra but my daughter has been very disciplined since i told her about this. She just wants BBM usage so doesn't really surf/download apart from the odd Facebook so never gets anywhere near her data limit. I check her bill online every other day.

Tesco's latest deal was as above except for 750 mins the last time i looked?
