just bumping, have been trying to transfer my existing isa (2.5%) to this northern rock 3.05% one...the site is awful!!! so slow and links come up all weird(have tried different browsers)
after 2 phone calls they have posted a transfer from out to me.
am i correct that this will be a transfer of funds only? I've used up my annual limit, so I don't need to open a northern rock isa account BEFORE I send the transfer form?
    thanks!

You can download a form from the site, then send it in.
  • Hi, I am very green when it comes to all things ISA'S, , I opened a Northern Rock E-ISA 2 year issue 29 ISA, with the intent of investing my full allowance for this year and transferring in an old Santander one,Igot my letter confirming my account was opened on the 09th of December , in it it stated that you could only transfer in whilst the issue 29 was available, I forgot my security details and locked myself out of my online account( clever I know ) but from their website tonight (14/12/2011) it appears that the issue 29 is no longer available,
Is it common practice for an isa to be withdrawn without notice so soon after it was opened thus giving ( in my case anyway) a very small window of opportunity to get The Isa transfer request form downloaded ,completed and sent off?

I have opened a couple of Northern Rock E-Isas this year and each time I opened the E-Isa to get the account number and then transferred my existing Isas in to it. On both occasions I was given 30 days after opening them with Northern Rock to get the money in and keep the offered rate.

It is where the rates are beneficial and attract a lot of interest.

I had no problem opening this ISA online, and just printed the transfer form, as although they say they'll send you one in the welcome pack, they don't.

Having a Northern Rock Isa with a minimum of £1000 will also enable you to have a monthly saver account with an interest rate of 4%

Where did you get that info from? I can't see it on the site.
