Out of date medication sold!

They have dates on medicines? Ooops.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

I think common sense should be used here. Some medicines lose effectiveness as they get older and some will become dangerous when they go out of date. However paracetamol is one of those which will do you no harm. prescription medicines can cause problems, but that is why they are prescription only. Just use the item you bought and don't waste it.0

Some pretty unnecessary comments here. OP asked a sensible question and got some rather harsh replies.
It is very bad practice to use out of date medicine and even worse practice to sell it.
As others have said, effectiveness reduces over time so you are taking the same amount of chemicals without the same effect. Seems dumb to me.
Some medicines change their chemical nature over time which could cause side effects.
If people want to put chemicals into themselves in circumstances when people with rather more expertise (pharmacists, manufacturers, doctors) advise against it, well go on then. I wouldn't.0 -
If its harmful/dangerous to consume past a certain date, it usually has a "use by" date.
If its perhaps just not in its "prime" then its a "best before" date.
At least that was my understanding of the purpose of dates.
Tip when shopping.....always check one item from the back of the shelf and one from the front. Some places know customers take from the back assuming it will be fresher so reverse stock. Most however will have older products to the front of the shelf and newer ones to the back. By checking both, you'll make yourself aware of which one will last longer and obviously, which one is least likely to go to wasteYou keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
