Dispute with BT and Sky....advice needed

I have just found out I am being charged by both BT and Sky for my broadband service. I switched from BT to Sky back in december, installed no problem, all has been fine since. I have received a bill this morning from BT telling me I will be deducted £25 via direct debit for February ( presumably I have paid for January also, though must have missed that bill coming in )
I have spent 2 hours on the phone to BT, the result of which being they are telling me that Sky have f**ked up and that BT are still providing my broadband. I asked how this was possible as Sky have speed tested my line and told me I am getting just over 15mb, how could this be as BT don't go up to that speed?
I was then given some mumbo jumbo about Sky not using my mac code and putting an LLU on the line.
Right so I was then on the phone to Sky who have also been taking payments off me. They tell me they are supplying my broadband and they did use the mac code, however they are currently investigating to make sure everything has been done correctly their end.
BT are definately not going to budge and will continue to charge me. Am I within my right to cancel my direct debit with BT?
Any advice would be welcomed as to what to do next.....

I assume you are using the Sky supplied router and you are being charged for the Max package (£10 per month). The Sky router will not connect to anything other than the Sky service.
If you try the speed test here http://www.dslzoneuk.net/ it will tell you who your ISP is.
I suggest you post over on skyuser.co.uk for more advise.
Its possible that the MAC was used incorrectly, it was when I joined sky from orange. In the end I cancelled orange myself and got a refund from sky. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Did the speed test, says my ISP is sky broadband. Does this mean BT are definately in the wrong?

I would think that that is the case.
You should point this out to them. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
