There's always the cheap option: slip a few rubber bands on your shoes to help with grip on icy pavements (wide ones are better) which is what my grandparents used to do (I'm from the alps the so ice and snow every year guaranteed) works quite well :)

I don't I'm afraid but you can go through a cash back site and earn 5%. I use quidco but there are others.

Last year our road was covered in about 4" of sheet ice and a few of us went out to try and clear some of it. I wore wellies which were useless-couldn't stay on my feet! Friend was wearing jodphur boots and had no issues with slipping or sliding. She lent me her husband's and I managed to stay upright with no problems. Have just ordered myself a pair for this year.

Ok,it may be me BUT QVC sell them at £18.75 for 2 pairs + £3.45 p&p.That is a total of £22.20. Surely thats £11.10 each.Where does £9.38 come from?

I am probably missing something here though:)

I wasn't counting the postage. I don't know what the postage for Boundry Mill would be. There isn't one near me.
