is there a way or a website where i can type a number in and it will tell me what company that number is from ?

Have you tried google? If its an established business you'll more than likely find it out by a simple web search.
I think 192.com allow reverse lookups, but I seem to recall them charging...0 -

yep... if you dont get anything back, try splitting it out by code then number
i.e. 07968123456 or 07968 123456 or 07968 123 456.0 -

Another useful site is http://www.magsys.co.uk/telecom/codelook.asp but dont forget they can only tell you the network that originally had number allocated to them.It want be able to tell you if its ported. Nor will it tell you if its a Virgin Number,it will just say T-Mob.0
