Hi i had signed up for a subscription from an adult website that used a company called webbilling.com one month i didnt have the money in my account so I cancelled my subscription to the website and the direct debit to them. I then sent them the money I owed (£32.50) along with an email to confirm my subscription was cancelled and there would be no more charges which they assured me there would not be in an email. I received an email from legalrecoveries this morning saying they were acting in behalf of webbiling and i owed a payment of 30. This was because a direct debit was to come out of my account for their client ( a website callef brazzers) which i never signed up for? I have emailed both companies on this subject but I am unsure of what to do at all

When you signed up to the site, did you also join any others as part of the package?
Maybe they think you've cancelled one, but not all?
Have you accessed the sites since the cancellation notice expired?
Failing that, why not give web billing a call?0 -
Webbilling is well known around these parts...

Lesson here... dont five your card details tothese type of sites. They are often not regulated and scam you. Why not try going out and meeting a nice lady... surly that would be better then beating one off to your computer screen. ;-)If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0

Cancel your card (report it stolen) if you'd at any time given them any card details for any reason.
I had this issue several years ago and advised they either cease and desist or substantiate their claim with documented evidence save my taking action against them under S40(1) of the Administration of Justice Act.
Four years on not heard a peep (if my OH asks it was six years ago, before we met, not four... :rotfl: ). They won't do anything.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I'm in a similar situation having received a letter from legal recoveries and collections ltd acting on behalf of webbilling.
@izools any more detail as to what was included in the letter/ what was included/ who it was adressed to?
Sorry for being a pain in the !!!! but it's the first legal dispute i've ever been involved in and i owe £106 which i simply do not have (I'm 17 and live at home).
Also i've posted in the 'I wanna but it or do it' section if anyone wouldn't mind helping me out?
Thanks0 -

Thanks- Do you agree that you owe £106 or is that what they claim you owe?
- Can a 17-year-old legally get credit?

It's that sort of attitude that got you involved in these kinds of websites in the first place, young man.....0 -
1. I was aware when signing up i would have to pay £1 thinking i could then cancel without having to pay the £30 monthly subscription but i then backed out during creating an account and then checked with my bank to see if i had any outstanding direct debit agreements, which i didnt, and so, not being able to log into brazzers or webbilling, i assumed everything had been cancelled and it's not until i got the letter through i found out otherwise. Also only by reading around have i found out that upon subscription there is a box automatically ticked that signs you up to another more expensive website and that is where the other £70 is coming from i assume. Basically i don't know if i agree i owe it (that's where i need help) but i am aware of where these figures are coming from.
2. I set it up using an under 18's debit account which obviously didn't work otherwise my account would have been charged but for whatever reason they continued to bill me.0
