Will the Government limit this extra cash injection to just new builds?

I suspect that they will have to expand it out to secondhand homes,

You really are quite dim. The reason they're restricting it to newbuilds is to boost the building sector. Anyone who can't see this is frankly......stupid. :D

...Great, now we shall see another boom upwards of prices - it can go no other way...

...One thing is ABSOLUTELY clear now - there will be NO CRASH at all ... not in the foreseeable future anyway...

...At least I own property and am not renting/buying someone else's place for them - so, I can take some crumb of comfort in the fact that my current home is very saleable once more - and at a much higher price than in 2009!...

...it's only upwards from here on in...

I think at best that is somewhat irresponsible and foolhardy.
No-one can make such a statement with any degree of certainty whatsoever.
Will you be equally as confident if the Euro collapses in the near future, which is certainly possible.
I would personally rule out nothing and regard very little, if anything, as certain.

Perhaps your optimism is based more on your desire rather than any rational assessment of a very uncertain future, short or medium term.

I also suspect your 'crumbs' would be a banquet for some.

I wouldn't take much notice of what he says. He is the 'village idiot' of the forum. Just watch out for his sockies

... (Cheap Property, that is) by the time you read this, then, I'm afraid the chance has gone.

It's no word of a lie when I say that in the area I want to buy everything has now been sold ... there is nothing left to sell ... in the summer the best properties went under offer, then the next best went .... yesterday, a property I was hoping to grab a bargain on in the mid-winter went under offer!

It has been clear to me that every property was being snapped up from this Summer onwards ... the dregs are now getting bought as desperation sets in for buyers.

Now, this morning, just when the market is moving - we get the Government about to pump £££££millions into the housing stock!! Great, now we shall see another boom upwards of prices - it can go no other way.

Stimulate growth by firing up the Housing market - it has worked in the past, it will work in the future too.

One thing is ABSOLUTELY clear now - there will be NO CRASH at all ... not in the foreseeable future anyway.

That's a shame as I wanted to buy some more cheap property, now that's not likely to happen ... like so many on here, I waited too long and have been caught out with money in the Bank but nowt to spend it on!

At least I own property and am not renting/buying someone else's place for them - so, I can take some crumb of comfort in the fact that my current home is very saleable once more - and at a much higher price than in 2009!

So, in short ... I believe that if you haven't secured that purchase now - you will be frozen out of the market, it's only upwards from here on in.

you are in the 5hit financially.

    Chin up old boy:)

If they STILL haven't bought a property they NEVER will. Property is not for everyone, just as renting is not for everyone. But then I'd rather own than rent.

Good result for the Aussies in the cricket. I didn't think they'd do it once Hussey's wicket fell.
  • On a recent trip to the United States, Tony Blair, Ex. Prime Minister of the UK,
addressed a major gathering of Native American Indians.

He spoke for almost an hour on his plans for a CarbonTrading Tax for the UK and Europe

At the conclusion of his speech, the crowd presented him with a plaque
inscribed with his new Indian name - Walking Eagle.

A very chuffed Tony then departed in his motorcade, waving to the crowds..

A news reporter later asked one of the Indians how they came to select the new name given to Tony Blair

They explained that Walking Eagle is the name given to a bird so full of !!!! that it can no longer fly.

    Nice one.

If you have a few spare minutes, Google 'Sepp Blatter with Black People'. Very funny (SFW, not racist although about race).

Re the last post. It takes a special kind of individual to qualify for the purple tie club. Apparently both are deaf to cries of injustice and corruption.
