Honeymoon would have to be nov - jan as he's busy pretty much the rest of the year. Harvest this year only finished 2 weeks ago!!

it definately won't be a 2012 wedding!!! Not got the cash to do that! more like 2013/2014 i think even 2013 would be pushing it!

My dad's a farmer... my parents got married 27th December, as that was pretty much the only time they were free! Hehe! :) 44 years and still going strong! :)

Good luck with it all! xxx

Without wanting to put a dampener on things, I'd suggest a contingency for the event of rain if you're basically planning an outdoor venue. Even in summer there's no guarantee - my friend married in June and it raine dmost of the day, another had the same luck in July. I married mid October in blazing sunshine and literally not a cloud in the sky! And October is statistically the wettest month of the year!
And once you have set a date remember you don't HAVE to do a lot of the things other people do. I never sent a save the date - I just rang or e-mailed people; I didn't even look at chair covers; we didn't have a sweetie table; we didn't have games. All you need is a date, a venue, a registrar (or celebrant or equivalent), something to wear and to invite the people you want. Anything else is just dressing so have your wedding as you want with as much or as little as you like :)

One of my colleagues at work got engaged and I was suprised by how quickly she started organising everything. Within a couple of weeks she was pencilling in a date and figuring out the wording on the invitations. She's now done so much that she's getting a little impatient for the big day itself.

Do I work with you? :rotfl:

There will be a marquee, but, i'd like to not have the whole paddock under cover if it can be helped.

Won't need chair covers - tables will be long banquet tables with benches ;)

Never even heard of a sweetie table! Why do you need one of them?!

I know what i want to do with my wedding, i just can't really be bothered to put pen to paper...

If you need to honeymoon in winter think of southern hemisphere if you want sun, Asia australia etc or go very cold and go to Iceland or ski type resort? Would also give you extra time to save up and something else to look forward to. Think as you are planning for waiting a couple of years maybe that's why you can't get motivated? Maybe just book the ceremony just now and leave the rest for a little while? When you need to get going on things I'm sure you will!

Or if you honeymoon in winter, you don't even have to go abroad..
A lovely little cottage with a real wood fire... lots of snuggling for the newlyweds :)

Can't risk a ski holiday :( If OH broke a bone that would be the end of work for the year ahead - i used to live in Norway so would love to go somewhere cold, but, alas, not gonna happen!! We don't really do holidays, and i don't mind staying here and means we can take the pup with us :o Mexico would be lovely but happy to rent a cottage in the middle of nowhere for a week or 2 instead!
