Sony Internet TVs

Hi
We have just brought a Sony Internet TV and paid around £450 for it.
We have just found out that if we want to use the internet via it, then we need to pay another £70 for a Wifi Dongle!!!
Does anyone know if we have to use a Sony Dongle or are others available
Or would it be easier to take the tv back to the shop as it's only 2 days old
Thanks

You won't be able to take it back unless the retailer's return policy allows it. The set is now secondhand and cannot be resold as new.
You should be able to use a set of Homeplugs as an alternative to wi-fi.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

I have a panasonic tele and they wanted quite a lot of money for their wireless dongle, so I bought a pair of homeplugs I think for about £30 and they work perfectly.0 -
I bet it does have ethernet, therefore to use the internet you do NOT need the dongle - that allows you to go wireless. Considering a TV isn't going to move, and that wired is faster and more reliable generally, I really don't see the point in a big TV having WiFi. Apart from fewer wires, but where's the fun in that?!0
