"Complete Savings" scheme

  • My husband has recently been caught by this. When he phoned Completesavings they said that he had joined because he had bought train tickets on the Train Line who are a partner of theirs. Apparently there is a strap line at the bottom of the Train Line page inferring that you can save money with them by signing up to what you believe to be a Train Line offer but is actually Completesavings. He is going to contact the Train Line to complain direct but we wanted others to be aware of this.
  • Yes we’re already well aware what happens when people sign up to this offer then forget all about it and whine months later. If you scroll up this forum you should find example sign up pages which are extremely clear.
Its a genuine savings club and many users, me included, are happy to collect significant savings every month.

What on average are your monthly savings out of interest?

I make three savings each month, two fixed and one variable.
    1. Monthly bonus - make at least one valid purchase every month from one of the listed retailers and i receive my monthly bonus which is basically my subscription back (+cashback for the actual purchase value...)
    2. Cashback - all valid purchases against listed retailers track cashback. The average rate is 10%. As a member of both Quidco and TCB i will happily go on record to say Complete Savings (web loyalty) pay out sucess is far better. Im fed up of Quidco and TCB denying claims and barely use them now. Plus 10% vs 1% for retailers like Currys? No comparison. Obviously this is entirely variable based on purchases in any month, but i have and do frequently hit the £250 monthly cap when purchasing holidays or coming up to Christmas.
    3. Giftcard purchases - every month i can purchase up to £200 of discounted gift cards. £100 of these can be “top offers” with a discount of 20% and £100 from the standard offers with discounts of between 3-12%. no one is doing gift vouchers at 20% discount like this. Retailers like Argos, Boots and iTunes are great gifts too! I save at least £20 per month on these.

So if people actually paid attention to what they were signing up to and used it, they would no doubt find it incredibly worthwhile!

Ive saved £000’s since signing up in 2011. My average is between £10-25 per month unless i make some exceptional purchase like a new TV or holiday.

Here’s a screenshot showing my monthly Cashback amounts.

Regularly hitting over £100in a month. Although note the October 16 looks like a glitch as it should be the £250 cap, not £2500 (I wish)

Your link doesn't work and to be honest unless it's Supermarkets or petrol most people won't make as anywhere near as much cashback to cover the fee. So is it possible you can share the exact results of both Supermarket shopping and petrol in terms of cashback you're getting?

Ok apologies link doesn’t work, don’t know what’s going on there.

As to your points... so online cashback..how exactly do you get that for petrol??? Do I order it by the tanker and they deliver it to my drive and pump it straight into my car or do I need a 30000gallon tank underground in my front garden? While we’re being super ridiculous, can anyone whose only disposable spend is ‘groceries’ and ‘fuel’ actually even afford a car? Or is that just because I’ve got the fuel bunker I can’t afford any other shopping?
Get real, we all know that most supermarket Cashback is limited to once only sign up deals. (Except Waitrose are a proper 10%cashback thru webloyalty)

    And if you honestly don’t feel like tracking Cashback at retailers other than supermarkets like;
    Argos
    Boots
    Curry’s
    Zavvi/Hut/Iwoot
    Debenhams
    Groupon
    JustEat
    New look
    TopShop
    River Island
    Starbucks
    B&Q
    Trainline
    JD Sports
    Majestic/Laithwaites wine
    Pizza Hut
    Domino Pizza
And many other high street retailers is worthwhile or even realistic, then why on earth call yourself “The Truth”??? There are plenty of Cashback retailers most at least 10%, more than enough for anyone to cover their fees and more...

Out of curiosity - how would your cashback compare if you, say, used TopCashBack (which is free)?

I am signed up to TCB and Quidco too, so i pick and choose which site i use for referrals based on best %, so my Complete savings are in addition to TCB and Quidco.

TCB/Quidco tend to be better with Insurance/Utilities/Mobiles/Broadband/betting shops type contract referrals as they operate cash levels based on switching contracts, but on shopping their cashback is usually a lot lower, 1-4% while Complete Savings are consistently at 10% cashback. Its a big difference for a holiday booking or say a new TV or Fridge from Currys or Argos. Quidco also does the in-store cashback and ClickSnap for supermarkets which is worthwile.

Another issue is failed cashback, TCB and Quidco decline more than they approve, usual BS that ‘the retailer has not paid them’ and they dont fight for you the customer. I rarely have declined cashback with CS.
To put that in context in the last 12 months these are my cashbacks by site. I think quidco/tcb as sole options would have meant me having about a tenth of this and that doesnt include the 20% giftcard saving every month.

    ShopperDiscountsandRewards/Complete Savimgs
    £558.67
    Topcashback
£91.84 (£70 was Ladbrokes rewards for signing up ahead of the Grand National)
    Quidco
Confirmed £8.24, £60 still pending since July (insurance) and £21.59 of declined cashback
