Morning all, hard day ahead for me, have to tell my children that their Nan died this morning:(
She was my ex mil but she was still dear to me and of course my children adored her. We knew she did not have long left but I still don't know how they are going to take it. Suppose I just have to be strong for their sakes.

Ps Please don't let my post depress this thread as I love the laughs, jokes and banter so please keep it coming :)
So sorry to hear your sad news , why is it always this time of year that these things happen. Huggs.

Hi , I am hoping one of you dtd experts can help me.
If a product is out of stock and they fill the shelf with another dearer ( very similar )product and leave the cheaper sel on would I be entitled to dtd
The " frosty" cs lady said no , also said they were not allowed to remove the label ,is it worth a phone call to HO?
    TIA
It is NOT the customers job to check barcodes!!!!!!!!

HO would agree with YOU, the consumer. You have no reason to suspect that the label is wrong!
Grey area. DTD is when the product SEL or sticker on product is lower than what you pay. If the SEL is for a different product you are not being overcharged. I can understand the "we shouldn't have to check the barcode on the SEL" argument. Some CSA will give you the product at SEL price but they don't have to. It all really depends on what the SEL says. If it says Phillips 2110 and you have a Phillips 2130, then clearly wrong SEL - no DTD. If it says Phillips hairdryer and yours is different barcode, stronger case for you, but not guaranteed.
Just got a nice little DTD. Bought Cars 2 DVD SEL showed 12quid till scanned it at 14.97 so 9.06 for a dvd that youngest DS would like for his birthday tomorrow. For some reason it came up on receipt as DVD 26111 rather than Cars 2 DVD.
I think they changed the print out lines to be DVD and last 5 digits of barcode. Also applies to xbox games etc.
I miss too many pages due to work so if you need an answer from me, please send me a PM.

Ah yes, I posted this yesterday, in fact the tesco one is £1.20 online but Robertson's only £1, also there MAY be a hidden 3 for 2 here, so you could get 3 jars each for 20p, sometimes T's are rubbish at putting offer signs up so it might be worth a look?

I did get three to check this, but the 3 for 2 didnt kick in, but still fantastic!

Wasnt trying to claim this find as mine, just confirming it, and that it was in an express:money:

Just want to confirm that the megga lollies (31p, but 11 for £1) are working in my local express, although they didnt stock the big size wine gummies which are also on the same offer.

Also express had jars of tesco brand mincemeat for 30p! SEL stated 30p! (robinsons jars were £1.31, so both cheaper than the online prices!!) The mincemeat is not with the robinsons, it was on an end isle with other promotions, so worth asking where the home brand is if you dont spot it with the baking things!
    :money:

Oh its an Express then. I've searched all my local Extras for this and never found any. I usually make my own but was lazy this year!

    Morning all,

Didn't get chance to post yesterday but did catch up on you all.

Sorry to hear some peoples news, sending everyone who needs one a big virtual hug.

Jumblejack was it you who posted about the little Hello Kitty suprise boxes? I knew I had seen them and there were loads in my store but all scanned at £1.20 and when I looked closely they all have a sticker over the barcode. :(

Can confirm that the Pinot Noir was still scanning £2.19 yesterday, is no one a red wine drinker around my way? ;) OH is very pleased and tried a bottle last night and it is very nice. I had a sip as I'm not a red wine drinker and it did not taste too bad not at all like some of the vinegar he drinks. :D

Thanks to wool27 I got some Princes Tomatoes 4 packs for 92p our local had them RTC and both varieties plum and chopped were that price. Hope that it is not store specific.

Saw a badly printed SEL for some BOGOF Thorntons chocolates that looked like had finished on the 25th but I did not try them as I was in a rush, glad I didn't as when I have looked online it's 25th December it ends.
Let's hope for some reports of overlapping offers today. Have yet to find the leaflet in my store but as wool27 knows I never take my glasses so they are probably staring me right in the face. :rotfl:

I think it just depends who serves you.

I had this a while back when there was a sel advertising a good price on a knife block but they had filled the shelf with a much more expensive Sabatier set.

We 'discussed' it for some time at cs and in the end they had to agree that as there was a sel advertising a special price on a knife block and there was only one knife block on the shelf it was reasonable for me to assume this was the correct set - regardless of the wording on the label.

They offered to let me have the Sabatier set but at the cheaper price but I held out for dtd as I felt it was a straightforward overcharge and in the end they gave in and gave it to me.

Had I not been so persistent I wouldn't have got it and to be honest I'm not 100% sure what HO would have said had I rung them so I do think it is a bit of a grey area. I always think it is worth a call to HO if you are unhappy with an outcome in a branch as they are generally very helpful - unless you are trying to keep a low profile until something bigger comes along.

PS Of course they can remove a label! That's what they generally do when you bring an overcharge to their attention.
If you're not scared, you're not paying attention
