Agreed, sorry if come across to strong, seeing and repairing the after effects are one thing, hearing from the family is altogether another, best described as haunting.

Made worse by 100% knowledge that it was avoidable.

I know you're trying to help from a 'knowing' point of view,....last year, a house literally blew up due to faulty boiler gas explosion...was about 6 miles away from us and fortunately no one died and the semi it was joined to remained intact.....but it pays to be careful....and Sunshine has said she has regular checks etc so fingers crossed landlord will get it sorted asap!! :)

I am in private rented, and always have been (well, since selling my home anyway)

You are incorrect when you say that the council have no responsibility of rehoming you when it comes to the LL wanting you out. I have been down this road a while back now, and the council DO have a responsibility - and in my oppinion, have never had any problems regarding looking for council housing... yes, they do drag their feet. BUT they will find you somewhere if you are needing somewhere to live.
luckily for me, i have always managed to find a home, privately, without the need to go via the council - as in my own circumstances, the 'council' areas near me are un-suitable for children.... Im not saying that all areas are like that... because they are not. I just personally think that paying that little bit more, for a nicer area for the kiddies is beneficial.

The council do not mind weather you are in private or LHA housing. they still will pay your Housing benefit if you are entitled to it also.

weather you are in private or LHA housing. you still have the same rights regarding tennancy, and the LL, whoever that may be, still has a legal procedur to follow if they are wanting to give you notice to leave the property. - This should all be laid out in your Tennancy agreement anyway. x

Anyway - lets get back on track.... dunno how we got to this from me telling everyone about my broken boiler.. lol

    Community spirit.

re read terms of lease re council, way different to last year.
you are correct if ent to bens then you r regardless of where ever.

was trying to highlight the forfits of giving up a council tenancy, short term good long term !!!!! and given DSS have reduced payment on private l/l dss ten agreements this will become more apparent n months to come.

apologises to T peeps for off topic conversation.
Back to square one, no apg, no comment.

Since the mention of the £15 box of chocs and the £10 JTD voucher ... this 'new' (to me) loophole has got me thinking. So much so I've just done a quick compare on my supermarket dot co dot uk and have come across the following:
    • Olay Total Effects 7x Day Moisturiser Fragrance Free (50ml) (T = £14.99)(A = £10)
    • L'Or!al Paris Sublime Bronze Self Tan Milk (150ml) (T= £13.49)(A = £7.00)
    • L'Or!al Paris Sublime Bronze One Day Body (150ml)(T= £12.10)(A = £7.00)
Are these possible JTD voucher producing candidates or am I missing something? Could it be this easy?:money:
