Hi Another Newbie!
I have spent the last few days 'lurking' on here, its taken a few days to read all the posts and get my head around the 'system'. Just want to say THANKS!! I wish I had found you all earlier but thats another story of a missed DTD opportunity. Have just been to the Ch*st*rf**ld store and managed to get my hands on 4 of the Turkeys, 1 £1 football and some of the 40p 2 in 1 dandruff shampoos!. Was told though that CS was closed to do the refund and DTD and will have to go back tomorrow, the member of staff did sign my receipt to say that they were priced at £7.50. Is this correct about CS or should I have stood my ground tonight and asked for the DTD. As this is my first time and my local store I did not want to make too much fuss too soon. Also when you get the DTD do they give you a cash refund or is it a voucher/card?
Thanks again I think I am really going to like it on here !!!If it wasn't for blinds it'd be curtains for all of us:dance:0 -

Checked the phones no joy, scanned the chuggingtons they even said die-cast which I thought were the ones but no joy, only decent thing I got was the turkey and omg what a trout on CS circled my turkey so hard she went through the paper, she even asked me why I wanted 3, my fella said, "she wants to hug them and love them and call them Beryl" :rotfl:0 -

Painted lining paper gives a really nice finish, I've used it in quite a few rooms and my OH is a real perfectionist, trust me the finish is lovely:)Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -
Managed to get one of the turkey breast things today. Couldn't actually afford to buy two since that would have brought my shopping to over £50 but one was very good.
Have to say though, the staff at this Tescos I go to occasionally are really nice and give DTD right away. This was only my second ever DTD - the first being an innocent OOD SEL on some candles - but both times the CS staff have said something along the lines of "Don't worry, at the end of this you will be happy we overcharged you... Thank you for bringing it to our attention." with a smile, while they explained DTD and how the item would now be free! Couldn't ask for better, really. I imagine the duty manager removed the packs of turkey breast from the store, though.
Took my flatmate with me, she knows I frequent these forums and when we go shopping she always asks if there's anything scanning cheaper than supposed to.She was quite happy to have a free dinner!

Lining paper is gr8, it hides a mulititude of sins. If your walls need a lot of smoothing out it will be quicker to use lining paper.
I have started painting the louge and thought the walls were good enough to use without lining. I now think it would have been quicker to line them as the sanding and filling is taking forever. HTHAvatar courtesey of HC :beer:0 -

Welcome and well done on your DTD. Some stores do make you go back for DTD if CS is closed but your receipt is signed so you should be fine. If you paid cash your DTD will be cash:TBeware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -

There is a few different Chugginton sets - i think its the ones with 7 pieces in, and it says this on the box too.... saw a SEL there a while ago with the £1.75 price, but they were all gone.. never seen a SEL since for them.
Didnt know about the turkey till now - Not going back out... ment to be decorating....haha.
If it was the lady with theshort redish hair - then yeah, she isnt the greatest - but let her moan, she knows the rules and usually honours DTD quite quickly and doesnt argue too much - Just makes you feel like your taking the money out of her pocket personally. lol.
Great Comment from your OH...... will have to remember that one....
Bet you will feel a little bit guilty cooking Berly now though..... you have named her... lol...Proud Mummy to a new little girl - Phoebe... born 11 days overdue on 3rd Jan 2012.0
