Easyjet: Buying a hold bag for the return leg only - possible?

If I wanted to do this with Ryanair, then it would be a breeze but I am not sure it is possible to split the outbound and return legs on Easyjet?

If not, when printing a boarding pass online for the outbound is there an option with Easyjet to delay printing the return boarding pass e.g. in case we want to add a bag before we come back?

Finally, does Easyjet have an option yet for scannable boarding passes for use on a mobile phone?

Can't believe I just read that.

Never really tried it but the obvious way is to make two separate bookings for the outbound & return legs.

Yeah the fact is that with Ryanair so far they don't get hung up on linking return legs in any way other than charging them simultaneously in the outbound currency only

Unfortunately our Easyjet flight was booked some time ago as a return and we are now wondering if we might need to buy a hold bag (for shopping!) on the way back. It looks like a bag on our flight is £28 both ways but there seems to be no online option to buy it one way only. That's why I wondered if we could check-in and print the boarding pass outbound only, fly the outbound, then add a bag whilst we were away. That's all possible with Ryanair. Indeed it it possible to book a bag just on the way back even before he outbound leg is flown.

Easyjet simply say phone up (01582 700036 according to say noto0870.com), luggage costs more booked on the phone but if you explain your situation nicely, they may charge the discounted online rate.
OR after you've taken the outbound flight, add luggage to your booking at an internet cafe.
Don't as people on that thread have done and add luggage at the airport as you will be charged a more expensive rate.

Ah ... so you believe it is possible to add a bag online after the outbound has been flown, Louis ? These airlines all have slightly different ways and it would be very annoying to find that all the options other than the "at the airport" option expire the moment the first leg is flown.

Yes, I have done this many times online with Easyjet after I have flown the first leg, and printed off the boarding card once I'd added the bag. Make sure you do this online else you may as well pay for both legs in the first place

I'm from London but I am currently living in Geneva so fly back regularly with Easyjet to visit family.

I normally carry a foldable Longchamp or sports bag or similar in my hand luggage on the trip out, which I can put in the hold with my shopping purchases on the way back, unless of course I need something bigger.

Yes I too have frequently added luggage after the 1st leg/on the return leg.

My question is how do you add luggage on the 1st leg and not the return leg after one has booked? Anyone know the method because the site wants to charge for both legs, by default. There doesn't seem to be another option.

I did this recently (added hold luggage on the outwardbound journey only) by phoning Easyjet. I did ask via email if I could do it using their website but was told that the only way to achieve this was by phoning them and making the request. Hope this helps you.:)

The only option is to do it by phone or at the airport, though the latter option will be twice as expensive.
