Phone sold on ebay - what to watch out for

I am a new seller on ebay and have sold a phone on ebay for £35. The person who has bought it has zero feedback and has chosen "other payment methods". I have checked the address and the bidder is from the UK. Is there anything I should be aware of or how could I avoid getting scammed?

Cheers

  • 1) Make sure you send the phone via Special Delivery
    2) Make a note of the IMEI number.

  • Definitely make sure you get the money first and if it is a cheque - that it clears in your bank before you release the goods and remove your chip with all your personal details on it.

Basically, as a seller, as long as you get paid with anything except PayPal you are safe. Make sure cheques or money orders clear before shipping and get a COP to protect yourself against any later claims of not shipping the item.
