Having compared the slim one to my keyboard one I would still probably choose the latter. The page keys on the side of the slim model look very exposed.0

So you can't convert most commercial e-books in from-pub format to the Kindle.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
just checked out tesco no deals on kindles at moment, showing at £89.00. does anybody know any where it might be on offer pls before i go argos thanks

OP, my 10yo DD wants one for christmas. She's had a play with both models and much prefers the one without the keyboard, it's easier for her to hold and you only need to use the keyboard when searching for books, so the on-screen one does the job fine.
If you go into PC World or Curry's they have them up and running if you want a play before committing.
