We have the £89 slim one and its fantastic. Not missed having a keyboard once, we always get new books by logging into Amazon on the home PC.0

I have a kindle with keyboard and I love it. Have hardly used the keyboard though - the cheaper kindle would be brilliant for a 10year old or anyone that loves reading.0

I buy from Amazon with my bank account and I have a 3g Kindle so you do need wifi but you could go somewhere that has wifi. Tesco has an offer of £75 for a kindle at the moment.0

I'd spend a little more and go for the keyboard Kindle for a couple of reasons.
1) Your daughter will be able to browse for books without hijacking your netbook.
2)If you register her Kindle to an Amazon account in her name, you will be able to keep this account as being funded by gift certificates only so you have no worries about her emptying your account. It will teach her money management and will provide relatives with an easy gift solution in the form of Amazon gift certificates!
Tip: My GF, Mum and I all share the same Kindle account and fund it with gift certs - means we can share books without one person having to foot the bill all of the time. Anytime anyone buys a book they replace the funds they have used from the account by sending a gift cert.

Kindle ties you to Amazon which you shod give some consideraton to.0
