Landowners damages was say £1 (the pay & display charge), you have already paid them £60, so any damages suffered by the landowner would have been paid 60 times over.

If they are foolish enough to actually do court, they would be laughed out of court, asking for yet more money (but that is what the scammers do, ask for late payment charges after late payment charges if you are foolish enough to pay them)
  • I've being ignoring letter form Roxburghe and graham white solicitors, but got a bit worried today as I have a final warning letter giving me notice "i intend to seek my clients instructions to apply for an application to the court under "civil procedural rules 31.16 - disclosure before proceedings start". from Marleyboy's post I'm presuming the most likely outcome is still not to be taken to court?

Civil procedural rules 31.16 don't apply to the county court.

It's just another letter in the chain. They will pass the file back to themselves to decide to throw it into the file of non-payers
  • Thanks for your help.
  • They must have some busy days in court ahead as we had our Roxburge letter the other day.I think I'll still sleep tonight though.
Went shoplifting at the Disneystore today.

Got a huge Buzz out of it.

I accept there were signs indicating it was a paid car park. It was just assumed parking was free - like a supermarket.

Was the car park you used at the Peel Centre in Stockport, Manchester? I have visited last week and noticed halfway during my visit that it was a pay & display. Luckily, I didnt receive a ticket.

The reason I ask is that there was an article I found about a bloke who got ticketed for not displaying a ticket and won a court battle on the basis that there was inadequate signage indicating that it was a 'Pay and Display' car park, something which I also noticed. And from what I could see, nothing was done to improve the signage.

    Here's the article: goo.gl/PQoaQ

If indeed, nothing had been done, since the court case, to improve the signs, then maybe you could even claim for your original £60 fine paid. That is of course if you have used this car park, which I have a strong feeling you have as I haven't come across any other retail park in Manchester that charges for parking apart from this one, the Peel Centre.
