Seems pointless to me. Its now made the PPCs look even more untouchable by the law.

I think not. Try this for size. Click here
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

Why not cast around to see how many other PPC's use misleading signage.

How many operate their own debt collectors?

How many kick over the traces with regard to BPA/DVLA ATA guidelines?

I'm aware of their practices, I just wanted to know if there were any more that had been in court.
  • Pity they were not done for the charging once for a double visit, I've always thought they had a program which only registered the first visit and the last ime of leaving. Fraud, not human error.
I did not believe this bit given how many ppc's morph when they get too many ccj's.

""" Harris maintained as he left court: “I have done nothing wrong. If we had fought this case it could have put the company into administration.”""

I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

They are using the standard report that comes with the software package. It records the first entry of the day and the last exit. It would seem that some numpties prefer to use this - its a convenient report to use - and don't set up a more precise version. Its not difficult to do but would require the use of the mouse and some typing skills. Perhaps the fat fingers get in the way and the mice don't like being mashed with a fist?

This one where a brain-donor of a clamping boss thought it was OK to tamper with a P&D machine:

    http://birminghamnewsroom.com/2011/02/car-clamping-boss-imprisoned-for-fraud/

Then there's this case, Gary & Wayne Southall, rogue clampers from Birmingham:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-11851471

And this prosecution of a clamper - rejoicing in the daft name of Clifton Hoffman - by Wolves TS:

    http://www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/business/trading_standards/rogue/clamper_jailed.htm

And this guy who thought it was a good idea to clamp cars protecting the Queen and then to argue with the undercover Policemen:

    http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/at-a-glance/main-section/man_clamped_queen_s_security_cars_1_3919349

And from a few years back, two bullyboy clampers jailed for blackmail among other charges:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1495021/Bullying-car-clampers-jailed-for-blackmail.html

And then this investigation by HMRC against a PPC called VCS, who thought it was OK to evade VAT by pretending their invoices were exempt 'fines':

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3195808

We think the latter is the tip of the iceberg and that lots of PPCs may well have been doing the same to avoid VAT.

And Parking Eye are being investigated by Trading Standards in Wales and Consumer Focus in Wales. Perhaps they will be doing court at some point.

Then you have :- Clamper Del Grosso given 'humiliating' punishment for race-hate crime

    http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/Clamper-Del-Grosso-given-humiliating-punishment/story-13883259-detail/story.html

And our old friend Jason White who tried to sue someone for "loss of earning" when they put up a sign warning his customers not to park on land adjacent to his take-away:-

    http://www.metro.co.uk/news/836788-clampers-sue-over-curry-house-warnings.

Not a very nice bunch are they?

And the worst of them all, of course, murderer Levi Bellfield:

    Milly Dowler murderer

It's all knuckle-draggers on the front line and then, in Management, those who may not be so academically-challenged but simply out to make a fast buck, never mind that their money comes from the poorest victims.

Put the two groups together - the 'massive-but-dim-ex-bouncers' and the 'money-grabbing chancers with no conscience' - and you have the parking industry today - the dregs of Society. And I am not just talking about clampers as we will see even more once clamping is banned - the press may at last wake up to the misleading, threatening dirge that these companies churn out and pass off as a 'parking ticket'.
