It would be a great joke if it wasn't so serious!
I will be surprised if it doesn't end up in the papers."There is a light that never goes out"0 -
This kind of seller makes me sick. He gives the rest of us a bad name!
I work long hours on top of my day job trying to make my business succeed and it seems someone so poor is doing quite well out of his business

apparently he has had sales of £37,000 in the last month!!!!
he is listing things like a tv with a broken screen and a dvd player that does not read , the buyers obviously don't read the whole listing, he also states that "everything in internally and externally security marked"! thus voiding any warranty.
his id is unitedkingdom electricals, his listings make very compelling reading, especially the bit that says " do not ask us questions, we will not reply".
he also does not like scotland, he charges overseas postage for buyers there. how the hell does he get his buyers to cough up "late payment" charges of £5 a day either? I don't know who is the most bonkers, him or his buyers???"There is a light that never goes out"0 -

Since the 9th August you have posted an average of 24,542,670.25 messages a day, or to put it another way, you have been posting at a rate of 17,043.5 messages per minute for the last 175 days!
:T :T :T :T :T :T
Yet despite that, you have only been thanked twice - which begs the question, was it worth it?

coultog: Sincere apologies, my fault completely.
I had intended to thank you for post #3,874,621,405 but forgot.
I think others here should 'fess up and stop being so ungrateful.
* PS: haven't time to check if memory serves me right, but I seem to recall wondering about the way the board's statistics get computed?
The thought was prompted by discovering a nice bloke called Martin Lewis who has been a member of MSE for longer than it has actually existed.

With such lovely people, how could it have been anything other than perfect.
I now realise why I've not been sleeping too well

The number of posts that coultog is alleged to have made is precisely one less than the largest positive integer that can be held in a 32 bit word (the size that computers tend to use by default nowadays). The binary pattern that represents that number also represents a negative number: -1. It almost certainly got to be that way because because the software has messed up the post count when deleting a few threads and has decremented the count too far whilst treating the underlying word as a signed (capable of representing both a +ve and -ve number) number, making it negative.
Then the software that represents the number in human readable format has treated the 32 bit quantity as a +ve only integer and, voila! there's your high post count.
Of course, it's a bit more complicated than that but I hope that explains it in an easy to understand manner.0
