GiffGaff overstretched????
Based on the recommendation from MSE, when my vodafone contract ended I decided to go SIM free and sent off for a GiffGaff SIM. The SIM arrived in good time and I requested a number transfer for about a week later. Firstly, the automatic number transfer didn't work and I had to email an 'agent' - good customer service, they sorted it out for me and emailed to confirm that it would happen. The transfer should have happened yesterday and needless to say, it hasn't.
I have emailed them three times and received no response. I can't find a number to phone, which doesn't help. There is a post on their blog saying that they are experiencing technical issues but everything was supposed to be cleared by yesterday. It's not. I have two small children and really can't be without a phone when I am out and about. Seriously reconsidering whether it's worth going with GiffGaff - it's a well known story of a company's success being badly forecast, and they clearly have no way to deal with their excessive orders.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Is it worth waiting forthem or should I just go and get another SIM?

I hit the same kind of issue with gift gaff when I was briefly with them as well that my number ported over ok but hit issues straight after which they could not fix.
As you have seen the issue is that it seems to take ages to fix any problem and there is not a customer services phone number to dial for immediate help.
Depending on how patient you are if they can work it out they do offer excellent tariffs and when it works it works very well indeed.
From my point of view I have recommended a couple of friends to check out talk mobile's sim only tariffs which run on the vodafone network and are very comparable to gift gaff and as you are an ex vodafone customer you will know what the coverage is like.
Maybe keep talk mobile as a second option if you cannot get gift gaff sorted out.0 -

If you have contacted an Agent, have you logged into your account - then clicked on Help - then clicked on Messages from agents?
If not, here's a link to contact an agent.
